Rat Catchers
While in a traffic queue, a member of our party shouted "Rats"! everyone dashed to the car window and sure enough a man on the pavement was holding 2 rats on a hook. They had been dead for a long time because they were frozen stiff and flies were circling them! After contemplating the idea that he was selling them for dinner, we thought it was more likely he was showing the results of his rat trap.

When you're out on the open road people holding up large rat-like animals are trying to sell 'bush-meat', wild mammals they have caught to sell as a special delicacy.
